ok then where is the best place to build your own private home on your own land in georgia without HOA?

ANY SUGGESTIONS

Your original question said you wanted to be close to Atlanta. Can’t really help you there since most of that land is gone or very pricey and I don’t know your range.

If you don’t mind the commute, I would look at Paulding or Cherokee County. Personally, I am a big fan of Cobb County due to its location and schools. There are plenty of places still available.

While I hesitate to offer my services for fear of spamming, you can certainly visit the website below and do your own search. My contact info can be found there.

Best of luck.

My sister and I get to re-design a bathroom…?!?

Posted by admin on May 31, 2010 under bathroom design

The bathroom is in my basement. Should we make it cute and girly like we want to? Or should it match our beige basement?

It is possible to do a little bit of both!
You can always do fairly neutral tile and walls… and get some cute & girly art work, and accessories. That way it’s easier to change things if you get tired of it.
UNLESS $$ is no object, then go for it, and do the whole thingy girly… chandelier, metallic shimmer glass tiles, framed mirror, sconces…. etc.!

How can I get my kids to keep their rooms cleaned? I’ve tried just about everything?

Posted by admin on May 31, 2010 under kids rooms

They are 10, 8, and 5. I am tired of working all day and coming home to have to clean up after them. I am at my wits end

♥ ♥ quit cleaning up after them, if they want their clothes to be washed then they must be put in the hamper, if they are left in the living room or anywhere else they dont belong and you have to either remind them or pick them up they will go in a container and it will cost them to get them back, either a chore or money….just sit them down and tell them the new rules… give them a couple of reminder days and thats it… it wont be long before they are doing it… :o ) ♥ ♥

Marketing my interior design business to Contractors?

Posted by admin on May 31, 2010 under interior design

I am an Interior Designer who would like to specialize in helping contractors design new homes (presold or spec). I currently work for a design center that offers cabinets, carpet, tile, hardood & slab countertops. I feel that I could be a single source for a contractor to go to for design help (since a lot of them don’t want to deal with this end of it). I could also select paint colors, appliances, lighting & plumbing fixtures.
I would love any ideas on how to market contractors!

Good Idea, Erika!

My late mother really broke into that market when she did a "Street of Dreams" home. This is where high end contractors build a number of spec homes and dress them to the hilt. They get more "lookers" and therefore, future contracts. Mom got a great deal of exposure, too and formed a relationship with that builder that lasted a lifetime.

Check with any/all building contractor organizations in the area, or large Realtors or perhaps even Building Supply centers. I believe the one she was involved with, was arranged through a large Realtor, who owned a large plot they were subdividing… The Street of Dreams was at the front and the rest of the lots were "for sale".

why can’t designers design an indestructible bathroom stall?

Posted by admin on May 28, 2010 under bathroom design

Every freakin one I go into has a wall coming loose a lock that doesn’t work….what the hexx are other people doing in there that makes them destroy the walls?

Think about the Titanic. It was unsinkable.

The lesson is that nothing is indestructible.

I think a more appropriate question would be, Why do people seem to feel it’s their duty to destroy bathroom stalls?

What were those toys called that they had in waiting rooms for little kids?

Is there any free software to design home garden with fish pond?

Posted by admin on May 28, 2010 under garden design

You might try to pick up a copy of "Ponds USA and Water Gardens" at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s or your local pet store. They have tones of ideas on how to build a pond. Many of the advertisers have web addresses and will send your free catalogs or have down loadable plans.. I haven’t seen any software for plans but again you might try the builder supply stores. They usually have small DIY book sections for building all sorts of great ideas. Try the local fish stores that sell quality Koi and you might find just what you need.
Good luck! I would love to see pictures when your done! I want to build my own some time soon.. just haven’t had the $$ to start what I want! lol

Here’s a few places that look like a great places to start!

http://www.atlanticfountains.com <<< say they have software but $$$$
