Need help with painting my kids rooms?

Posted by admin on Jul 20, 2010 under kids rooms

Currently the walls of my kids bedrooms are painted light blue and green. I need to change their bedroom cause they are bored of the same look for the past five years. I plan to put lemon yellow with grey. But I need info on how to remove the blue and green first. Please help as I plan to do the paint job myself.
The walls are painted and not wall papered

are the walls papered?
you can get a steamer and scrape the walls and paper using lining paper
and then paint

if i were you, if the paper is i tact i would paint the whole lot white
2 coats
and then do your lemon & grey on top
quicker, easier and cheaper

I am currently an interior design major but I really want to do all sorts of design like design interiors AND do fashion. Do I need to go to grad school? What do I need to do to be able to do both?? THANK YOU!

Get an entry-level job in a fashion house. Network, until you find one, and more importantly, someone who can tell you what they are looking for in the portfolios they look at. There are, believe it or not jobs out there. Not all creative ones, but you’ll have your foot in the door.

How to design an Herb Garden?

Posted by admin on Jul 8, 2010 under garden design

What is the best way to design a herb garden?

Plan your garden before planting it. Consider the herbs you want to plant and what you’ll use them for. Herbs grow in various ways; some herbs, such as thyme, are low growing and spreading while others, such as parsley, grow in clumps. Mint is a taller, vigorously growing herb which often needs to be contained. Herbs are considered either annuals or perennials and many will bloom just like more traditional flowers.

List or draw your garden on paper first. If you know the size of your garden you’ll easily be able to choose the appropriate plants. Likewise, if you have certain herbs in mind you’ll able to plan the right size garden.

Gino designed a garden for his rectangular backyard. The design he drew on paper is 6 inches wide. The width of his backyard is thirty feet. If his drawing is to scale, and his backyard is forty feet long, how many inches long is his drawing? Write a proportion using words. Then, use the proportion to calculate the drawing length. Show your work.

Go do you homework and figure the answer yourself. Stop cheating by asking people here.

Were to find garden design on a budget?

Posted by admin on Jul 2, 2010 under garden design

I want to redesign a medium sized garden, such as removing all the lawn and re planting trees, etc… The most important help I want is with a completely new layout, where and how to find an economical way of doing it, is there such thing as a garden centre who can help with advice and a computerized design perhaps? The garden is in Gloucestershire.

I recently did some new landscape projects myself ,and found a great source of information and ideas for creating various types of layouts and was able to complete the projects with out breaking the bank and produce a fabulous garden with some trees as well. Check it out here
